Overmind Poetry about Bridal Mysticism

Amongst the Four Paths to Godhead, Bhakti Yoga is declared to be supreme.

Great is Union via Wisdom
Great also the Path of Action
Psychic Control is also sublime
Greater is this Union via Love !

Evam bhoothathaya hi bhakthibhihito
Yoga sa yogadvayath
Karma Jnana Dwayath Bhrisothara matharo
Yogeeswarair geeyathe !

Jnana Yoga describes Thee in Totality
While Bhakti Yoga extolls Thee !
Thou who art Universal Beauty
Thou whose light kindles the Universe
Thou who art Love Absolute !

Soundarsya rasatmake thava khalu prema prakarshatmika
Bhaktir Nishramameva ! Vishwa Purushai !
Labhya Rama Vallabha !

In Bhakti Yoga, Self Actualisation
Is attained by Thy Grace !
Effortlessly it comes to one
Who rids his mind of sins
" Work is Worship', ' Duty is divine"
Is the rationale of Karma Yoga
But its result is distant and far !

Nishkamam niyathaswadharma charanam
Yat karma yogabhitam
Thaddoorethya phalam, yadaupanishada
Jnanam cha labhyam puna

Jnana Yoga is indeed great
But its principles are incomprehensible !
Upanishadic thoughts are known
For their philosophic subtlety
Mind cannot comprehend
A state beyond Mind
An Overmind or a Supermind !
Hence the greatest Yoga, therefore, is
Bhakti Yoga supreme !

Thathvavyakthathaya sudurgamacharam
Chittasya thasmath Vibho
Thval prematmaka bhaktireva sathatham
Swadeeyasee Sreyasee !

( Mahakavi Melpathur - Narayaneeyam )

Bhagavan Shankara also said it

Mokshakarana samagryam
Bhakthir eva gareeyasi

The great poets used to say that Jnana Yoga is the wife and Bhakti Yoga is the lover !

Brahmathine kayyil eduthu bhaktik
Ammanamadan kazhiyunnuvatre
Jnanathinanengil Mukundapada
Renukkal Kanan kazhiyunnathalla

Mukthikku kattathe rahasyamayi
Ttetho chamatkara rasangalellam
Bhaktikku nalkunnoru jarabhavam
Brahmathil undenthu paranjidunnu !

Jarabhavam is the aspect of some ladies who reveal their secrets to their lovers and not to their husbands ! The wise say such a jarabhavam exists in the Lord !
